New Treatment for Big Toe Joint Pain

For years Orthopedists have been using injectable hyaluronic acid for painful arthritic knee pain. Now this product is available for the foot in our NYC office.

If you suffer from stiffness and discomfort at the big toe joint of your foot, this can be an alternative to Steroid injections, and Surgery. Using Ultrasound guidance, the Hyaluronic acid is locally injected into the joint. It can increase joint flexibility, and reduce pain. This has been shown to lubricate the joint surfaces. We have seen it last up to 6 months and more.

This is a great option for those trying to delay the possibility of surgery. Great part of a conservative treatment plan which can also include custom foot orthotics.
